General Las Vegas Convention Center Rules


  1. Halogen Lamps Restrictions: The use of stem and track mounted halogen or other fixtures employing either a linear halogen bulb or a non-shielded halogen bulb may not be used. (Refer to Las Vegas Convention center Building Users manual for additional information.)

  2. Flame Retardant Certification: All materials used in exhibit construction, decoration, or as a temporary cover must be certified flame retardant or a sample must be available for testing. Materials which cannot be treated to meet the requirements may not be used.

  3. Booth Covering: Allowable mesh covering above booth(s) on the show floor is 70 percent open and with no less than 1/4" inch openings. In addition, the thickness cannot be greater than the openings.

  4. Firewatch: If a contiguous overhead covered area does not meet #3 above, and the overhead covered area is between 300 and 999 square feet, an after hours fire watch is required. If the overhead covered area exceeds 999 square feet, a temporary automatic fire sprinkler system is required to be installed below all covered areas.

  5. Smoke Detector: Please provide a smoke detector in all fully enclosed areas, i.e., storage area(s).

  6. Storage: No more than a one-day supply of materials may be stored in the booth at one time. No storage is permitted behind booths or near electrical service.

  7. Exiting: Code states that the maximum travel distance to an exit aisle from within an exhibit booth cannot exceed 50 feet. Please provide additional exit doors, openings etc., if needed.

  8. Final Approval: As always, final approval is determined by an onsite review by a member of our Safety Department for compliance with Fire Safety Guidelines. (Guidelines attached.) Any single level exhibit exceeding 300 square feet of contiguous covered area and/or 1,000 square feet of total booth space, and all multiple-level exhibits, must submit a booth plan to the LVCVA Safety Office for approval prior to the exhibit coming onto LVCVA property. Please send plans to the LVCVA Safety Office at 3150 Paradise Road, Las Vegas, NV 89109. Plans may be faxed to (702) 892-2919 or emailed to tvolz@lvcva.com.
